I went dinner at Baudelaire restaurant in Parisinside Hotel Burgundy. In one of the most sophisticated areas of the city, the 1st arrondissement, on the chic Rue Saint Honoré, the Burgundy it is a luxury boutique hotelwith just 59 rooms.
Opened five years ago, the Burgundy It is in a building from 1850 and despite being in a very busy area, there was no noise inside and we have a feeling of tranquility and sophistication inside the hotel. O Restaurante Baudelairenamed after the poet and theorist Charles Baudelaire, has a Michelin star and is led by chef Pierre Rigothier.
It is located on the ground floor, just after the hotel lobby and bar, in a reserved area and overlooks a charming internal garden, which at night becomes even more interesting with its beautiful lighting. This is also where the hotel’s breakfast is served.

The decoration of the Baudelaire, like the hotel, is sober and tasteful, with wide armchairs and large lamps. The light is just right, giving the room a cozy atmosphere, but allowing us to see what we are eating. The space between the tables is ideal, as it prevents us from hearing our neighbors’ conversations, something extremely unpleasant and very common in Paris, where most restaurants have tables next to each other.
Our dinner was plentiful even though we chose à la carte dishes, as the chef brought some treats especially for our table, especially the foie gras raviloli.
Desserts were a separate chapter, creations of the pastry chef Julien Chamblas. I also couldn’t resist the French cheese plate, always a temptation when you’re in the country.
After dinner I took a tour of the hotel Burgundy and I confess that I felt like sleeping right there. The rooms are comfortable, have good space and sophisticated decor with colors that vary from one to the next. The daily rate for a simple room starts at €400 and of course the rate varies depending on the time of year. I can’t wait to go back Paris and have a complete experience of staying at the charming Hotel Burgundyin the most sophisticated area of the city.
