Healthy heart diet

In a heart-healthy diet you should:

  • avoid foods rich in fat and salt, such as industrialized and pre-prepared products;
  • exclude fried foods and other preparations that use a lot of fat;
  • eliminate salt from food preparation, and you can always use aromatic herbs, olive oil, garlic and wine to season;
  • Do not drink alcoholic beverages, but you can use it to season lean meats and fish because the alcohol evaporates when the food is heated.

In addition to diet, it is important for heart health to control blood pressure, practice physical activity, such as a 30-minute walk every day, and have a weight appropriate for your height and age.
