Crispy Fried Polenta – Panelaterapia

Crispy Fried Polenta

Sauces and Salads

Hey guys! Today I came to talk about a true gastronomic passion: fried polenta! 🌽😍 If there’s one thing Brazilians love, it’s this crunchy and delicious snack.

Fried polenta is an irresistible version of our beloved polenta. It is prepared from polenta dough which, after being cooked and cooled, is cut into strips or sticks and fried until golden and crispy on the outside, and soft and creamy on the inside. It’s a true encounter of textures that makes anyone salivate just thinking about it!

My Fried Polenta recipe

Make a cream with 1 cup of cornmeal and 1/2 of water, then boil another cup of water and add the cornmeal “cream”. Add 1/2 envelope of powdered chicken broth as this will give a special flavor, stir until it thickens.

Then add black pepper and salt if necessary and pour everything into a baking dish. Wait for it to cool and cover with aluminum foil, let it rest in the fridge for 24 hours. After this time, cut cubes and dip them in cornmeal, then fry in hot oil until a crust forms, drain on absorbent paper and prepare to receive lots of compliments.

This wonderful snack is extremely versatile. You can serve it as a starter at a family lunch, as a snack at a party or even as a side dish for that Sunday barbecue. In fact, there is no better combination than fried polenta with good juicy meat.

Now, let’s talk about the accompaniments that make this wonder even more special. For cheese fans, fried polenta goes perfectly with cheddar, catupiry or even gorgonzola sauce. It’s an explosion of flavors!

With sauce or without?

If you are passionate about sauces, you can opt for a barbecue sauce, a creamy garlic sauce or even a seasoned mayonnaise. No matter what you choose, the important thing is to indulge and enjoy every crunchy bite.

And let’s face it, fried polenta is one of those foods that brings us delicious nostalgia. Who has never enjoyed a generous portion at a June party or in a bar with friends? It’s a classic that always brings back good memories.

So, the next time you feel like eating something crunchy and tasty, don’t hesitate to prepare a delicious portion of fried polenta. I’m sure you won’t regret it!

I’ll leave the recipe here as an image for you to print and make:

* Highly recommended to serve with a cold beer! Because a cooking and/or gastronomy blog cannot live on light food alone (I only ate 1 square of this, okay?).

So, who’s a fan of fried polenta? Tell us in the comments what your favorite side dish is, if you make it, don’t forget to tag me and follow me on social media! 🌽🍟
