Cracked nails are those that appear to be cracked, scratched, and are a nail art option for women with a casual style.
There are two ways to obtain the cracked effect.
The first way is to use cracked top coat enamels.
And the other way is using a toothpick.

Nail Art: white cracked nails using a toothpick
Have on hand: white nail polish, lace nail polish and a toothpick.
1 – Apply two layers of white nail polish over the entire nail.
2 – With the nail polish still wet, take the toothpick and start making scratches on the nail in the shape you want, making the cracks the desired size.
3 – Once dry, apply the lace nail polish on top to firm it up and make the crackle more beautiful, finish with extra shine if desired.

Nail Art: colorful cracked nails using a toothpick
You can do this nail art with different colors too.
The bottom layer should be the color you want to appear when you crack your nails.
In the photo above, gray and wine colors were used, but you can do whatever you wish.
Have on hand: wine nail polish, gray nail polish and a toothpick.
1 – Polish your entire nail with gray color.
2 – Wait for it to dry and apply wine nail polish over it.
3 – With the nail polish still wet and using a toothpick, start drawing the crackle as you wish.
4 – Finish with extra shine if you wish.

Nail Art: cracked nails with black and silver nail polish
In this case, we will leave the toothpick and just use a crackle top coat, specially developed to create these cracks when passed over each other.
The more the colors contrast, the cooler the effect.
Some brands that have these nail polishes are:
- Ellen Gold;
- Risqué;
- Big Universe;
- Essence e;
- Mohda.
Have on hand: a conventional silver nail polish and a black nail polish with a cracked effect.
In this case, cracked black from the Essence brand was used.
1 – Polish your entire nail with gray color.
2 – Once dry, apply a thin layer of cracked black enamel on top and wait. (Very thick layers don’t produce a very nice effect).
3 – In a moment you will see that the gray enamel will begin to appear, as the cracked black is starting to crack.
4 – After the full effect has appeared, wait a few moments and finish with an extra shine if desired.

Nail Art: cracked nails with colorful nail polish
Have on hand: conventional nail polishes in the colors white, light blue, dark blue, purple and salmon… and a black nail polish with a cracked effect.
1 – Polish your entire nail white.
2 – Now you should make four stripes on the nail, with the nail polish colors above, in the order you want (see the small photo above).
3 – Wait for it to dry and apply the nail polish with a black, cracked effect on top and wait for it to start to take effect.
4 – Once the effect is finished, finish with extra shine if desired.
