Corn Cake with Guava

I have a problem with big cakes. Here at home we can’t eat it whole, so I developed this recipe that makes 1 pan of English cake, which is ideal for a house of 2 people. I mixed the ingredients and in the end the cake was incredible! Try it and tell me later!

Ingredients (the cup used is 200ml):
– 2 eggs
– 1/3 cup of water
– 1/2 cup of oil
– 1 cup pre-cooked cornflakes
– 2/3 cup of wheat flour
– 2/3 cup of sugar
– 1/2 tablespoon of baking powder

* Pre-cooked corn flakes can be found in supermarkets in the flour section. There are several brands, and with different names, but I think the best known is Milharina.

Mix everything and place in a greased and floured English cake pan. On top, place small squares (so as not to sink too much) of guava paste (I used a shell).
There is no right amount, I cut two thick slices and chopped them.

Bake at 200º for about 35 minutes.
*Time can vary greatly depending on the brand of your oven. Test by inserting a toothpick into the center of the cake; if it comes out clean, the cake is baked. But be careful: only open the oven for the test after 20 minutes so the cake doesn’t deflate.
