Condensed Milk Bread with Coconut

Snacks

This recipe is known as “spoon dough” because it is a soft dough that does not need to be kneaded and you place spoonfuls on the baking sheet and bake.
I was really eager to test it. It was delicious, but I thought the dough lacked a little sugar. I will post the recipe the way I made it and at the end of the post I will include suggestions for anyone who wants to reproduce it.

Dough ingredients:
1/2 cup. (milk tea);
1/2 cup. (tea) water;
1/2 cup. (tea) oil;
2 eggs;
1/2 can of condensed milk;
1 cabbage (chá) of salt;
3 col. sugar (soup);
2 tablets (15g each) of fresh organic yeast;
500g of wheat flour.

*Use standard 240ml measuring cup
*Use all ingredients at room temperature.

Dough Preparation Method:
Blend all the ingredients in a blender (except the flour) and add the flour little by little and mix. The dough is sticky, it doesn’t come off your hands.

Keep the dough in a bowl covered with plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in size. No matter how long it takes, it will depend on how hot it is in your area and other factors. It may take 1 hour or it may take up to 3 hours. Don’t get attached to time, but to appearance. See the dough below before rising and after rising. It has to look like this:

Put the dough in spoonfuls (I used the larger serving spoon). You don’t need to grease the pan but I sprinkled a little wheat flour.
Place the spoonfuls side by side leaving space between them. Cover and keep again in a stuffy place for 40 minutes.

Bake in a preheated oven at 180ºC until the surface is golden. In my oven it took 40 minutes, but in yours it could be more or less, see if it is golden on top and bottom.
Remove from the oven and pour the remaining half can of condensed milk on top. Don’t worry, it seems like a lot but the bread will absorb it all. Sprinkle with grated coconut (optional). I used the moist, sweetened coconut version.

I made a large baking dish that yielded 12 hamburger bun-sized loaves. And I even made a small donut in the shape of a hole in the middle because I had leftover dough.

Note: I would put a total of 5 cols. (soup) of sugar in the dough, because even after the condensed milk I thought it was a little sweet. But it’s a matter of taste, okay? Then you tell me what you think.
