Today in the kitchen, we are making Cider Stew. The recipe is simple and full of indregients that are probably in your pantry. The one thing that I really love about this cider stew recipe is that other then the salt and pepper, we can grow all the ingredients right here on our Canadian Homestead. Whether you have fresh apple cider, or apple juice. You will be surprised at the amazing flavour of this stew.
Cider Stew Recipe:
2 cups apple cider or juice
3 tablespoons ketchup
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon basil
1/4 teaspoon savory
1/8 teaspoon pepper
3 rashers bacon chopped
2 – 2 1/2 lbs chicken diced
4 medium carrots (3 cups)
2 medium sweet potatoes (2 1’2 – 3 cups)
2 medium onions (1 cup)
2 sticks of celery
1/4 cup cold water
3 tablespoons flour
