Chickpea Vegetarian Burger – Panelaterapia

Chickpea Vegetarian Burger

Sauces and Salads

I did Vegetarian Burger! I! Euzinha! I was invited to participate in the Coca-Cola Taste Games, a competition that will choose the best burgers and my recipe is participating (but look how fancy) and is in the vegetarian category. If it is chosen, it will be available on the menu of several restaurants across Brazil, so at the end of the post there are instructions for you to vote.

Honestly, my inspiration came from this recipe and if I don’t win I already won, why can I talk? How delicious it was, but the proof is that even the husband, who is a confirmed carnivore, loved it!

As it is not a hamburger veganthe competition rules allowed the use of sauces and cheeses, but if you do not consume them, you can remove these ingredients.

I made a “dough” with chickpeas, fresh peas and lemon zest that contrasted wonderfully with the provolone cheese, but know that this dough can also be used to make fried or baked dumplings. Let’s do this?

Vegetarian burger dough ingredients

250g cooked chickpeas with skin;
1/2 cup. (tea) of fresh peas that I soaked in boiling water for 1 minute because they were frozen;
1 clove of garlic;
1/4 of an onion;
2 tablespoons of green scent;
3 tablespoons of olive oil;
1 teaspoon of spicy paprika;
zest of the peel of 1/2 lemon;
Salt and black pepper to taste;
2 tablespoons of toasted cassava flour.

Place all of the above ingredients in the processor, except the lemon peel and flour, but be careful as they must be added later, mixing manually. Shape the burgers and prepare them by grilling them. I made it with provolone cheese, lettuce and tomato, but you can add whatever toppings you prefer. It was wonderful. Watch our competition video here:

VOTE FOR PANELATERAPIA’S BURGER
Finally, access https://winnin.com/cocacolatastegames and choose the “Veggie” category. There will be 7 rounds with 2 burgers competing in each round, but whenever “Chickpea and Pea Veggie Burger” appears, you choose it. Yeeeeeee!!!!

But if you want to try other ideas, here I have a Soy Burger recipe and finally I couldn’t help but leave a little recipe for a Homemade Gourmet Burger because I try to eat less meat but you can’t ignore a burger, right?
