Cassava Cream with Kroon Gouda and Parma Crisp

When I received the delicious mission to use Kroon Gouda cheese in a recipe I immediately thought of something very warm to match the winter climate.

The cassava or baroa potato is soft and sweet, so it mixes well with the Kroon Gouda cheese, which gives this recipe an incredible creaminess! It is an authentic Dutch cheese, as the brand has been prominent in the manufacture of premium products since 1831. Only by tasting this cheese can you understand why it is so loved and copied!


The ingredients I used are:

  • 3 chopped garlic cloves;
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil;
  • 4 medium cassava peeled and cut into slices;
  • 500 ml of legume broth;
  • Parsley, salt, black pepper to taste;
  • ½ cup grated Kroon Gouda cheese;
  • 100 ml of cream.
  • 4 slices of parma ham, cut into smaller pieces.



Way of doing: Brown the ham in a non-stick frying pan. It is not necessary to use any fat. Remove and keep on sheets of paper towel.

Sauté the garlic in olive oil, add the cassava and mix well. Cover with the vegetable broth and bring to a boil. Keep on low heat until the mandioquinhas are very soft.

Beat the cream using a mixer or blender, or if you want a more rustic texture, just mash the mandioquinhas. Add the cream and Kroon Gouda cheese and mix. Adjust the salt and add black pepper and parsley to taste. When serving, place the parma pieces on top. It was sensational! Recipe that will be a hit on your table too!!!
