The list of the 50 best restaurants in the world is out! It was this Tuesday (25th), in Singapore, at the Sands Theatre. O ”The World’s 50 best Restaurants” is considered the Oscar of Gastronomy, and this year, A Casa do Porco, by chef Jefferson Rueda, in São Paulo, made its debut, being the only Brazilian to enter the list, in 39th position. Casa do Porco is among the 50 best restaurants in the world
The restaurant, opened in 2015, rose no less than 40 positions – last year the house debuted in the same ranking in 79th place. In the center of São Paulo, the very popular restaurant offers conceptual Brazilian cuisine where pig is the protagonist. Yes, it is the only protein used on the menu! Therefore, the chef presents dishes with meat in different shapes, textures and flavors.

The Top 10 of the best restaurants in the world
Mirazur, in Menton, France, by Argentine chef Mauro Colagreco, was considered the best restaurant in the world. In second place was the Danish Noma, by chef René Redzepi, which has already been considered the best in the world four times. Closing the podium, the Spanish restaurant Asador Etxebarri, in San Sebastian, by Victor Arguignoz.

In fourth place was Gaggan, by chef Gaggan Anand, in Bangkok, Thailand, followed by Geranium, in Copenhagen, Denmark. In 16th place is Alain Ducasse au Plaza Athenée, in Paris, with three Michelin stars, a restaurant that our editor Renata Araújo has been to, as well as The Clove Club, in London, which was in 27th place.
In addition, there is also Le Bernardin, in NYC, in 36th position, which has had three Michelin stars since 2005, and specializes in seafood. Already in 42nd is Belcanto, in Lisbon, where our publisher celebrated its anniversary this year.
From 51º to 120°
In addition to the top 50, the list continues up to 120th, and this year’s list has four Brazilians! DOM, by chef Alex Atala, in São Paulo, appears in 54th place. In 2018, he ranked 30th. Furthermore, he was the first Brazilian to enter the ranking. Another São Paulo restaurant, Maní, by chef Helena Rizzo, came 73rd.

Completing the list of the 120 best restaurants in the world are some that our editor has also been to outside the country, such as, for example, David Toutain, a restaurant with 1 Michelin star in Paris, by the chef of the same name, in 106th position. Just like Per Se, one of the best restaurants in New Yorkin 115th place, led by chef Thomas Keller, the same person from the French Laundry, in Napa Valley.
