One of the simplest ways to make pot roast. And my friend, it’s time to lose that fear of using a pressure cooker. With attention and due care there is no danger. Let’s try:
I bought a 1.1kg piece of manila and asked the butcher to clean it. In the bag that the meat comes in, I added 3 tablespoons of liquid meat broth and spread it all over the meat. This liquid broth is available from imported brands, but in Brazil I only know it from Maggi (it’s not jabá, didn’t you see?), but if you can’t find it, you can use 2 packets of powdered meat broth.
Once that was done, I watered the bottom of the pressure cooker with a drizzle of olive oil and added 3 large chopped onions. It is important that the onion covers the bottom of the pan. On the onion “bed” I laid the meat.
I added a level teaspoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of sweet paprika (optional) and a little black pepper to the pan. Add 100ml of hot water and cover the pan. After gaining pressure, lower the heat and leave for 1 hour.
Remove the meat, slice and set aside. In the remaining sauce, place unpeeled potatoes cut into 4 pieces and let it come to pressure again. After 8 minutes the potatoes will be cooked and golden. Serve the sauce and potatoes with the meat.
