Bread Stuffed with Broccoli and Bacon

Snacks

This combination of broccoli and bacon filling is awesome!!! This bread or baguette can be made with various fillings, including sweets (to do this, simply reduce the salt by half and add 2 tablespoons of sugar to the dough).

Ingredients:
500g wheat flour
5g dry organic yeast
2 tablespoons of powdered milk
2 tablespoons of sugar
1 tablespoon of salt
1 beaten egg
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 cup (tea) of water
Wheat flour for flouring
1 egg yolk mixed with 2 tablespoons of water for brushing

Filling:
200g chopped bacon
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
2 cloves of garlic, chopped
1 bunch of pre-cooked broccoli
1 cup (tea) cream cheese
Salt to taste

Way of doing:
For the dough, in a large bowl mix the dry ingredients (flour, yeast, powdered milk, sugar and salt) for 1 minute.

Add the egg, margarine and half the water and mix with a spoon until the dough starts to form. Now, using your hands, add the remaining water, little by little, until it forms a homogeneous and smooth dough. If necessary, add more water or wheat flour.

Transfer to a surface and knead the dough for 7 minutes. Knead well. Form a ball, place in a floured bowl, cover well and let rest for 40 minutes.

For the filling, place the bacon in a pan and fry in its own fat until golden. Add the butter and garlic and fry for another 1 minute. Add the broccoli, season with salt to taste and sauté quickly. Turn off the heat, mix with the curd and set aside.

After resting, divide the dough into two parts and roll out on a floured surface using a rolling pin, until it forms a large rectangle with a thin thickness.

Lengthwise, divide the dough into 3 parts without cutting, make strips at both ends, leaving the middle without cutting. Divide the filling between the masses and close to form braids. Place in floured pans, cover and let rest for another 20 minutes.

Brush with the egg yolk mixed with water and sprinkle with oregano. Bake in a preheated medium oven for 35 minutes or until lightly browned.
