If you prefer, you can also call this recipe a bread pie. Regardless of the name, this is one of those super quick-fix recipes that helps you use up leftover cold cuts that are in the fridge, leftover sauces, whatever comes your way. I used wholemeal bread, which already comes without the crust, but you can even make it with sliced French bread, just follow the same order.
I had 150g of ham and 100g of mozzarella. I processed everything together (but you can use it in slices too).
I also used 1 cup (tea) of tomato sauce. I had a homemade one like this recipe here, but if you want, use ready-made industrial sauce.
Now make layers like this:
- I greased the refractory with butter and added a little sauce to the bottom.
- Slices of bread with more sauce on top and some cream cheese.
- Cheese/ham and oregano.
- Slices of bread with sauce on both sides (spread the sauce as if it were a pate).
- Cheese/ham and oregano.
Now just put it in the oven for 20 minutes at 200ºC. Delicious and very easy to make!
