The beta hCG test is a type of blood test that helps confirm a possible pregnancy, in addition to providing guidance on the woman’s gestational age, if the pregnancy is confirmed.
If you have the results of your beta hCG test, please fill in the value to find out if you are pregnant and your possible gestational age:
What is beta hCG?
Beta hCG is the acronym that stands for human chorionic gonadotropin, a type of hormone that is only produced by women during pregnancy and is responsible for the appearance of the most common pregnancy symptoms. Therefore, measuring this hormone through a blood test is widely used as a way to confirm a possible pregnancy.
This blood test may be ordered by your doctor in a quantitative or qualitative way. The first will bring values associated with the level of this hormone while the second will have the result: positive, in the case of pregnancy, or negative.

How does beta hCG allow you to know your gestational age?
The production of beta hCG begins shortly after fertilization of the egg and, generally, its levels in the blood gradually increase until the 12th week of pregnancy, at which point they stabilize and decrease again until the end of pregnancy.
For this reason, knowing the amount of beta hCG in the blood helps the obstetrician to better understand which gestational week the woman should be in, as there are ranges of values stipulated for the amount of beta hCG in each week of pregnancy:
How to understand the result of the calculator?
According to the beta hCG value entered, the calculator will indicate the possible weeks of pregnancy, based on the intervals indicated in the previous table.
If the beta hCG value is entered for more than one week of pregnancy, the calculator may offer multiple results. Therefore, it is important to evaluate which week of pregnancy indicated by the calculator seems to be most reliable, according to the development of the pregnancy.
For example, a woman with a beta hCG value of 3,800 mlU/ml You may receive weeks 5 and 6 as a result, as well as weeks 25 to 40. If the woman is at the beginning of pregnancy, this means that she should be in weeks 5 to 6. However, if she is at a more advanced stage of pregnancy, It is possible that the most correct result is a gestational age of 25 to 40 weeks.
