Can a kiss create an entire city? This is the legend that involves the creation of Conceição da Barra, in the north of Espírito Santo, 264 km from Vitória. The city was born when the sea and the river Cricaré, one of the most important of the ES, kissed. And look, this meeting was intense. With high tide, the sea advances towards the kiosks. Located in the northern end of the state, Conceição da barra has more than 40 km of coastline of warm waters, especially the Itaúnas Beach, famous for the dunes and forró.

But Conceição da Barra is not just nature. The city has a rich history, marked by colonization and indigenous and African culture. This is reflected in its traditional festivals, such as Ticumbi, a folkloric spectacle that you will not want to miss.

In high season and weekends there are concerts and performances of musical groups. When we were the interest in axé predominated. The carnival is also bustling in the city, attracting many people from Minas Gerais and even São Paulo.

Apart from these options, the night seemed to us a stop, with few alternatives and face of a town of the interior. This is great for those who like to relax, but not so cool for those who enjoy a little aggy.

4. Boat trips by the river Cricaré and Itaúnas

One of the most sought-after tours by tourists is chalana, a type of vessel that climbs the river in an ecological itinerary. The route passes through riverine villages, which gives the opportunity to discover more about the region and have a different perspective of the local culture.

The sand is thick and yellowish, and the waters are clear and calm, ideal for a relaxing swim and for families with children.

Coastal vegetation adds a touch of green to the scenery, and if you are lucky, you may even see some species of seabirds that frequent the area.
