Surrounded by reefs that at low tide form immense natural pools of crystal clear waters, Barra de São Miguel is a destination for many tourists and residents of the region looking for calmer sands.

The central beach is the busiest with stalls and boats offering tours. The left side is quieter, only houses and inns are in the surrounding area, with the beach being almost exclusive.
