Banana mousse recipe

Ingredients

  • 6 small bananas
  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • 1/3 cup (tea) sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of rum
  • 1 can of whey-free cream
  • 1 tablespoon colorless gelatin powder (learn how to make gelatin)
  • 3 whites

Preparation mode

  1. First, peel the bananas and add to a large bowl.
  2. Mash all the bananas well and then add the lemon juice and sugar.
  3. Then, transfer this mixture to a pan and heat.
  4. Stir all the time until a homogeneous paste forms, on average 15 minutes over low heat.
  5. Once done, turn off the heat and add the rum and cream and mix well.
  6. Let it cool a little.
  7. Then, add the already hydrated and dissolved gelatin following the instructions on the package.
  8. Beat the egg whites in a blender until doubled and incorporate into the banana mousse.
  9. Then, pour the mousse into small individual bowls or a large mold.
  10. Finally, put it in the fridge to chill for at least 4 hours and you can serve it.

Tips for preparing banana mousse

  • The rum adds a special flavor to the recipe, but if you don’t want it or don’t have it, you can leave it out.
  • Or, if you prefer, you can replace the rum with white wine.
