Once I posted a snack with banana and dulce de leche (click HERE to see the recipe) and at the time several people said that Ana Maria Braga had made a recipe with banana and sweet milk. I was curious and looked for Tia Ana’s recipe. It was really good, I tried it. This one is a variation inspired by it. Mom had made a white brigadeiro with walnuts and had leftovers, so I invented this sweet.
For the white brigadeiro, just heat 1 can of condensed milk, 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter and chopped nuts (to taste). Stir until it thickens (for this sweet, it’s best for it to be soft).
Line a baking dish with slices of crustless bread. Soak the bread with milk (about 2 tablespoons of milk for each slice) and sprinkle with cinnamon. Cover with the walnut brigadeiro. Then make a layer with banana slices. Sprinkle a little sugar (to caramelize and brown) and cinnamon. Place in the oven for about 15 minutes.

* For this sweet, silver bananas are best suited, as they are no less sweet. It was very good, but next time I want to make it with sponge cake underneath, I think the texture will please me more than with bread.
