At 11 months, babies already eat 6 meals a day, which include 2 fresh fruit porridge for morning and afternoon snacks, which complement breast milk or infant formula, and two “salty” porridge for lunch and dinner. , made with cereals or tubers, proteins, fresh vegetables and legumes. 1. Pasta porridge with tomato

Pasta has excellent amounts of carbohydrates, a fundamental nutrient for providing energy to the body, helping with development. Tomatoes are rich in vitamin C and antioxidants that support the baby’s body’s defenses.

Ingredients:

  • 1 large tomato chopped into large cubes;
  • 1 cup of raw pasta tea;
  • 2 cups of filtered water;
  • 1 chicken egg;
  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil;
  • 1 teaspoon of chopped garlic;
  • 1 teaspoon of chopped green chilli.

Preparation mode:

Bring the water to a boil in a pan. Add the pasta and egg, letting it cook for 10 minutes. Drain the pasta, remove the egg and set aside. In another pan, heat the oil and sauté the garlic and onion for 2 minutes. Add the tomato and sauté for another 5 minutes or until the tomato is very soft, but not falling apart.

On a plate, place 1 tablespoon of cooked pasta and roughly mash with a fork. Add 1 tablespoon of the sautéed tomato and roughly chop or crush. Add ½ boiled egg, chopped into small pieces. To complement the meal, you can add 1 tablespoon of cooked and mashed chickpeas. Serve the food warm and separately on the baby’s plate.

2. Beef porridge with pumpkin and yam

Meat is rich in iron, an important mineral for the production of red blood cells and the transport of oxygen in the body. Meat is rich in protein, a fundamental nutrient for development.

Ingredients:

  • 1 dessert spoon of olive oil;
  • ½ chopped onion;
  • 1 clove of chopped garlic;
  • 2 tablespoons of ground meat;
  • 1 small yam cut into cubes;
  • 2 tablespoons of pumpkin cut into cubes;
  • 1 dessert spoon of chopped parsley.

Way of doing:

Place a pan on the fire, add the olive oil to the onion and garlic, sautéing for 2 minutes. Add the meat and sauté for another 5 minutes. Then add the yam and pumpkin, sautéing for 2 minutes. Add enough filtered water to cover the food. Cover the pan and let it cook for 15 to 20 minutes or until the vegetables are soft but intact. at the last minute, add the chopped parsley and mix.

On a plate, place 1 tablespoon of ground beef. Add 1 tablespoon of pumpkin and chop into small pieces. Add 1 tablespoon of yam and chop into small pieces. To complete the meal, add 1 tablespoon of beans, roughly crushed. Serve the food warm and separately on the baby’s plate.

3. Fish porridge with sweet potato

In addition to being a great source of protein, fish has good amounts of calcium and vitamin D, nutrients that help in the development and maintenance of healthy bones and teeth.

Ingredients:

  • 50 grams of boneless fish fillet;
  • 1 medium sweet potato;
  • 1 medium carrot in large cubes;
  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil;
  • 1 teaspoon of chopped garlic;
  • 1 teaspoon of chopped onion;
  • 1 and ½ cup of filtered water;
  • 1 teaspoon of parsley.

Preparation mode:

In a pan, sauté the garlic and onion in olive oil. Add the fish, carrots, herbs and 1 ⁄ 2 cup of filtered water. Let cook for 10 minutes or until the fish and carrots are soft and set aside. Peel the sweet potato, chop and cook in a pan with 1 cup of filtered water until very soft, but not falling apart. Drain the potato and reserve.

On a plate, add 1 tablespoon of the cooked fish and shred. Add 1 tablespoon of carrot and mash with a fork. Add 1 tablespoon of sweet potato and roughly mash. A suggestion to complement the meal is to add 1 tablespoon of cooked black-eyed peas, mashed with a fork. Serve the food warm and separately on the baby’s plate.

4. Avocado baby food

Avocado is rich in healthy fats, providing energy for body and brain development. Furthermore, the fruit has excellent amounts of fiber that helps the intestines function properly, preventing constipation.

Ingredients:

  • ¼ avocado or ½ ripe avocado (hass).

Preparation mode:

Wash the avocado and lemon well. Peel the avocado, remove the seed and reserve half. Chop half or 1 ⁄ 4 of the avocado, mash it roughly with a fork and offer it to your baby as a morning or afternoon snack.
