Anyone who has been following the soap opera Pantanal, on the Globo network, knows that the dilemma of deciding where Juma and Jove will live could be resolved very simply: moving to Juma’s Tapera. However, the house is not in the best living conditions.
For this reason, architect Camila Schleder, who has already stated that she is by Juma’s side during all the discussion of the plot, decided to create a complete project of how the tapera could be renovated. The video presenting and describing this renovation has been a hit on TikTok.

Tapera da Juma in the soap opera Pantanal
Growing up in the Pantanal, Juma has roots in the Brazilian backlands. In TV Globo’s super production, the character’s cabin is quite rustic and borders on worrying conditions.
In the image above we see that the columns on the house’s porch are made of wood. However, according to the colors presented, they appear to be rotten, which would harm the structure of the house.
Furthermore, the doors and windows are also made of wood, but this time, they are assembled with slats that do not require any care or treatment.
The facade of the house also resembles an old country house, with colorless walls, just cement, and full of stains caused by time.
Despite the terrible condition of Juma’s house, the character has the resistance to leave the house. After all, it was her parents’ home for many years. Therefore, one solution for the arguments with her future husband to be resolved was to transform the cabin. So, let her check out how the architect’s project turned out.
Juma tapera project
Firstly, the professional kept the structure of the house with the windows and door in the same position. However, to offer greater natural light to the Juma tapera, these openings became larger.
Furthermore, still on the facade, the columns were reinforced with new wood and a concrete base, so as not to compromise the structure of the home.
As for the decoration of the facade, the cabin maintained a rustic touch, however, decorated with stones, wood and earthy colors. Furthermore, the front garden gives a touch of landscaping while at the same time meeting the characteristic landscape of the soap opera Pantanal.
At the back of the house, Camila integrated two spaces, a leisure area made with a pergola and a hammock and a laundry room. As a result, the backyard would maintain a large space with grass and plants, making it the perfect place to relax.
Furthermore, the architect presents another angle of the outside of the house that even shows a large kitchen window and a horse.

Internal area
Of course, the interior of the residence would also need renovation. Therefore, the architect brought proposals for Juma’s kitchen and bedroom.
In the kitchen, there is a rustic decor harmonized with the outside. For this, a retro model refrigerator in cream color and cabinets designed with wood in its original light color were used.
To bring warmth and a decorative touch to the room, Camila added a shelf above the window with some pots and a hanging plant pot. Furthermore, the curtain is a feature that, in addition to being decorative, helps control the entry of light into the room.
Finally, there is also Juma and Jove’s room. In a tone reminiscent of burnt cement, the coziness comes from the wooden headboard, which covers the entire width of the wall and offers a feeling of spaciousness.
Furthermore, there is a crib next to the bed ready for use by the house’s children. And, of course, there could be a painting with a drawing of a jaguar on the wall.
