Apple juice to improve bowel function

Natural treatments

Apple juice is an excellent home remedy to improve bowel function, as apples contain a soluble fiber called pectin which, when in contact with water in food, forms a viscous gel capable of increasing the volume of feces and promoting intestinal functioning.

Furthermore, by facilitating the movement of intestinal transit, apples are able to eliminate toxins and insoluble fibers present in the intestine, making them a great complement to treat diverticulitis, diarrhea and constipation, for example.

Ingredients

  • 2 apples
  • 1 cup pitted cherries
  • 1 liter of water

Preparation mode

Cut the apples in half, remove the seeds and place in a blender along with the cherries and water. Beat well until obtaining a homogeneous mixture and drink twice a day.

To complement this home remedy, you should drink at least 1 liter of water a day, have an abdominal massage, eat foods rich in fiber, such as strawberries, pears or seed bread and exercise regularly as these precautions also help to loosen the intestine.
