What is it for

Alfaestradiol is indicated for the treatment or prevention of androgenic alopecia in men and women, which is characterized by hair loss associated with hormonal factors, especially testosterone, leading to atrophy of the hair follicles.

This remedy acts directly on the root of the hair follicle, which helps prevent hair loss. See other remedies that can be used to treat hair loss.

How to use

Alfaestradiol should be applied directly to the skin of the scalp, once a day, preferably at night, with the help of the applicator, for approximately 1 minute, so that approximately 3 mL of the solution reaches the scalp.

After applying alfaestradiol, you should massage the scalp to improve absorption of the solution and wash your hands at the end.

Alfaestradiol can be applied to dry or wet hair, but if used immediately after showering, the hair must be dried well with a towel before applying.

The length of treatment with alfaestradiol must be guided by the doctor, and improvement in hair loss can generally begin to be observed after at least 1 month of treatment.

Possible side effects

Some side effects that may occur during treatment with alfaestradiol are discomfort in the scalp skin, such as burning, itching or redness, which may be due to the presence of alcohol in the solution, with symptoms generally being temporary. However, if these symptoms persist, you should consult your doctor so that your treatment can be re-evaluated.

Who shouldn’t use

Alfaestradiol should not be used by children under 18 years of age, pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Furthermore, this remedy should not be used by people who are allergic to alfaestradiol or any other component of the formula.

Alfaestradiol should not be applied to the scalp with wounds, nor should it be applied to other areas of the body or mucous membranes.
