The reception of the luxury hotel in Tokyo
For anyone leaving Narita airport, I recommend taking a limousine bus for US$40 to the center. There are also stops at most large hotels, as the airport is far from central Tokyo.

The Mandarin Oriental symbol
O hotel
The Mandarin Oriental Tokyo hotel was opened in 2005. It is luxurious, with very tasteful architecture, however, without the slightest ostentation, typical of the brand. There are 157 rooms and 21 suites, most of which have a stunning view of the city.
The architectural project is designed by César Pelli, an Argentine-American, known for having designed some of the tallest buildings in the world and several urban icons, such as the NY World Financial Center.
My experience
When I arrived at my suite, on the 38th floor, I could hardly believe its size and the imposing view of the city. The Japanese capital seemed literally at our feet. After all, we are talking about an excellent luxury hotel in Tokyo.
The size of the bathroom was consistent with that of the room and the treats offered to guests could not be better thought out, to get us into the oriental atmosphere.
The gastronomy aspect of the luxury hotel in Tokyo is a chapter in itself. You can stay at the hotel for a week and not be able to visit all the restaurants. In total, there are ten restaurants: Cantonese, Chinese, sushi, French and Italian, for example.

Luxury hotel restaurants in Tokyo
A rich breakfast is served in one of the elegant restaurants. Once again we could enjoy the view of the great metropolis. It is noted that there is a mix of guests between tourists and business travelers.
The bar is charming, with a great atmosphere, reinforced by the sound of the piano. On the same floor, there is the Tapas Molecular restaurant, very small and cozy, and Sushi Shin by Miyakawa. The first from the Tokyo branch of Miyakawa, a chef with three Michelin stars.
We were invited to a sushi tasting which was certainly by far one of the best meals I had in the country. The fish are all bought fresh at the most famous market in the world, Tokyo. Of course, this makes all the difference.
To those who say that the country’s Japanese food is very different from ours, know that yes, it is much better! Firstly because of the variety of fish, then because the rice has more vinegar than we are used to.
Another highlight of the restaurant is its sommelier, Kaoru Izuha, elected the best in the world, in a competition that brought together 25 thousand participants. For her, sake is much more than mere adjectives, such as “dry” or “sweet”. Therefore, she presented us with an incredible variety of sakes and made us lose our common sense – inevitable.
