A luxury hotel in DC

It’s always a pleasure to come back Washington, city ​​where I lived as a teenager and I have a special affection for. The capital of the United States has a thousand interesting attractions, endless museums and beautiful architecture, in addition to being surrounded by greenery on all sides.

It was a pleasure to be invited to stay at the Mandarin Oriental DC, one of the best hotels in the city and located right in the center, close to the main monuments, such as the Capitol and ten minutes from the airport. To top it off, the hotel is next to two metro stations.

The hotel, which is a five-minute walk from White Houseis right in front of the Marina de Washington, thus offering a beautiful view from some rooms, like mine! The beautiful garden was in full bloom at this time of year!

With around 400 rooms, despite being large, we can feel the exclusive service that the hotel offers. The staff is always attentive, and the concierges work late and solve all problems within their reach, as well as giving great suggestions for restaurants and tours. Upon arrival, I found welcome treats! Everything we need after a tiring trip!

With sober but modern decor, the hotel has a very pleasant and bright lobby during the day. On weekends at night, a friendly jazz band performs there. The rooms are very comfortable and the bathroom is the same, something very important for a traveler.

O MO DC have two good restaurants and it is also possible to have light meals in the lobby. We had a great dinner at Sou’Wester, a Mediterranean restaurant. It was a pleasant evening and we sat outside, facing the garden, which added a special touch. We started with fried oysters and a delicious crab soup. Next, I ordered octopus and Marcelo, filet mignon. Both dishes were delicious!

One of the highlights of the hotel and the spa, which in addition to offering a variety of facial and body treatments with exclusive products, it has a huge indoor pool that can be freely visited by guests and a beautiful gym.
