It probably comes as no surprise to anyone that we love good pizza. I mean, after all, who doesn’t like pizza?
Part of the appeal is that pizza is very quick and convenient, cheesy and delicious, and very customizable.
Of course, sometimes we turn to McDonalds for delivery, but it’s so easy to enjoy pizza from the fryer. In fact, we have a few recipes just for that! We share our English muffin pizza recipe (a childhood favorite) as well as how to make frozen pan pizza.
This Air Fryer Tortilla Pizza is another delicious and simple way to get pizza on the table quickly.
The tortilla crisps up beautifully for that thin, flavorful crust I love and you can easily pile on all your favorite toppings and lots of cheese.
The fryer makes this pizza even more practical! There is no need to heat the oven. Just 4 to 5 minutes in the fryer.
If you’re in the mood for wings and pizza, try it with some air fryer frozen chicken wings!
Pizza Toppings:
Everyone has their own idea of what the best toppings for a pizza are, and like pretty much any other pizza recipe, you can use whatever toppings you want. I’m using pepperoni, Italian sausage and black olives. Here are some other good pizza topping suggestions:
- Bacon
- Ham
- Chicken
- Minced meat
- Bell peppers
- Jalapenos
- Onion
- Mushrooms
- Pineapple
- Tomatoes
- Garlic
- Herbs/seasonings
- Other cheeses (parmesan, cheddar, provolone, etc.)

Flour tortilla – You will need an 8″ flour tortilla. Tortillas make a quick and easy thin crust for pizza that requires absolutely no work. One tortilla per pizza, please.
Pizza sauce – We love Rao’s marinara for pasta sauce, but they also make a really good pizza sauce! I linked to it, but you can use any brand of pizza sauce you want when making tortilla pizza in the air fryer.
Cheese – I prefer classic melted mozzarella cheese to top tortilla pizza. You can use other cheeses or a mixed variety of cheeses. Parmesan, cheddar and provolone are good choices.
Coverages – You’ll load the air fryer tortilla pizza with all the same toppings as you would on a regular pizza. I’m using pepperoni, Italian sausage and black olives. You can use just about any pizza topping you want! I’m also adding a pinch of Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes for some heat, but they’re optional.
We love these air fryer tortilla pizzas because they are so quick and easy! There’s no work preparing the dough or waiting for the oven to preheat. You can assemble these pizzas and cook them in just a few minutes and it’s virtually effortless. These pizzas are great for snacks or meals! And the tortilla crust tastes amazing – like a thin, crispy crust!
How to make tortilla pizza:

- Prepare – To begin, preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees for 3 minutes and spray the air fryer basket with some cooking spray. It’s much easier to assemble the tortilla pizza while it’s in the air fryer basket, so go ahead and place the tortilla in the basket after preheating to begin assembling the pizza.
- Sauce – Spread the pizza sauce over the tortilla, but be careful not to overdo it. You really don’t need much sauce, just a thin layer covering the tortilla.
- Principal – First sprinkle the toppings such as pepperoni, sausage and black olives and then cover with the grated mozzarella. Finally, sprinkle with Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes.
- Air Fry – Once you have finished preparing the pizza with your preferred cheese, toppings and sauce, you can place the basket back in the pan and let it fry for 4 to 5 minutes or until the cheese has melted and begins to brown. When the tortilla pizza is finished cooking, let it cool for a few minutes before slicing, or simply enjoy it whole!

Recipe tips!
Keep these simple tips in mind when preparing tortilla pizza for the best results:
- Assembly – I recommend adding the sauce, toppings, and cheese to the tortilla while it is in the air fryer basket. It’s easier than trying to transfer it and possibly losing some coverage.
- Sauce – Don’t overload the tortilla with sauce! You only need a thin layer, about a tablespoon, and if you add too much it can make a mess in the fryer.
- Coverages – Use whatever toppings you want. Prepare a variety and let your family make their own pizzas for a fun pizza night.
- Low Carb – Keep this meal low-carb by using low-carb tortillas and pizza sauce without a lot of added sugar.

COMMON QUESTIONS:
How to store leftover tortilla pizza?
You can keep leftovers stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3 to 4 days. Tortilla pizza can be easily reheated in the microwave or air fryer.
Can you fast forward or freeze for later?
Yes, you can assemble a tortilla pizza in advance and fry it later. Raw pizza will keep in the refrigerator for a few days or can be frozen for up to a few months.
Is the tortilla “crust” crispy?
The tortilla should crisp up a little in the pan unless you overload it with sauce. It can get soggy if you use too much sauce. If you want the tortilla to be as crispy as possible, it may help to brush it with a little oil before adding the sauce.
Can I use corn tortillas?
We only use flour tortillas to make pizza dough as pizza dough is made with wheat. If you want to use corn tortillas, they will be crunchy but won’t have the same flavor as pizza dough.
Setup time 5 minutes

- Place the tortilla in the air fryer basket and carefully spread the sauce over the tortilla and top with the pepperoni, sausage, black olives and cheese. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning and pepper flakes.
- Air fry at 400 degrees for 4 to 5 minutes until the cheese is melted and begins to brown.
