I think the vast majority of people only use microwaves to heat milk, defrost meat or at most popcorn. I confess that I didn’t do much more than that either, but for some time now I’ve been interested in learning other uses for the device, especially because many blog readers write to me asking.
So I decided to start from the basics, because I had never tested one receipt of rice in the microwave! But I promise more elaborate recipes from now on.
I swear, I was surprised by how the rice turned out. It was really good! And how easy it is to make people!
Just mix two cups of water for each cup of rice and place in a glass or microwave-safe container (or pan suitable for this purpose), add the seasonings and salt. For this quantity I suggest 1 small chopped onion, 1 chopped garlic clove and 1 teaspoon of salt, but you can use whatever seasonings you want.
Refractory and lid suggestion:
Stir well and cover the refractory with a microwave-safe plastic lid (photo above). Turn on the device at full power for 5 minutes and look, if there is still water, return to the microwave and repeat the operation until it dries well, every 5 minutes. After the water dries and the rice is cooked, let it rest for another 5 minutes and serve.
You just need to keep checking every 5 minutes the first time, because microwaves change a lot depending on the brand and this prevents you from burning the rice. From the second time onwards you will already know the total time it took to complete and you can enter it straight away.
I also recorded a video to make it even easier and show you the result. Remembering that anyone who subscribes to the YouTube channel receives the content first, so click HERE and then click on “Subscribe”).
