This little pig with a Chinese “footprint” is delicious! The good thing is that you can use chicken or any pork cut into cubes (ham, loin, etc.) I used pork filet mignon because it is very tender and I love it! This recipe serves 2 people who eat well or up to 4 people who eat moderately.
Let’s start with the sauce. Mix:1 cup (180ml) of warm water, 1 envelope of powdered vegetable broth (or tablet), 1 tablespoon of cornstarch (cornstarch), 1 tablespoon of white vinegar, 1 tablespoon of ketchup, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 3 tablespoons of soy sauce. Mix well and set aside.
The other ingredients we will use are:
– 500g of pork cubes seasoned at least 2 hours in advance (I only used 1 tablespoon of complete seasoning, 1 tablespoon of white vinegar and 2 tablespoons of soy sauce;
– 1/2 onion in large pieces;
– 2 cloves of garlic, chopped or crushed;
– 1 carrot (small) cut into very thin slices;
– 1/2 cup of chopped green beans;
– 1/4 diced red pepper;
– 1/4 diced yellow pepper;
– sesame oil for sautéing (optional);
– sesame seeds and chives for finishing (optional);
In a deep frying pan or wok, add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil and 1 tablespoon of regular oil or olive oil and fry the meat cubes. Then add the onion and garlic. When the mixture is golden brown, add the carrot and green beans, after about 5 minutes add the peppers. Keep everything over medium heat, stirring constantly to soften it a little (remembering that the vegetables must be crunchy). Add the sauce and mix well so that it thickens. Turn off the heat and serve sprinkled with sesame seeds and green onions. Unconditional love for this recipe!!!
