Anyone passionate about astrology knows that your sun sign doesn’t tell you much about your personality. In fact, the Sun sign only scratches the surface of who we are. To understand the decans, you first need to know that the Zodiac Wheel has 360 degrees. The Wheel is divided into twelve equal parts, each with 30 degrees, which represent the signs. The decans are nothing more than the division between the degrees of the sign itself.
As each sign has three decans, that is, each of them is represented by 10 degrees. To make it easier to understand, relate these degrees to days in the month. For example, if you were born between March 21st and 30th, you are from the first decan of Aries, and so on.
Each decan is defined by triplicity, which is nothing more than a difficult word to explain the elements present in the zodiac. The word Triplicity represents a group of three signs that belong to the same element.

How to discover the decans of the signs?
As already explained, each sign is divided into three decans, and the influence of each decan is defined by triplicity. The first decan of the sign represents the “purest” type of the sign, while the second is somewhat influenced by the next sign of the same triplicity, and the third again by the next sign of the element.
For example, ten days of the sign Aries are the purest Arian decan, the next ten days borrow some qualities from Leo, the second fire sign in the order, and finally the third decan is influenced by Sagittarius. Did you understand?
But, did you think it ended here? Not even! You probably know that each sign is ruled by a planet, right? Therefore, in addition to the decans defining some other characteristics “borrowed” from the signs in the triplicity, they also borrow a little from their ruling planet.
Therefore, if you are an Aries from the second decan, for example, in addition to having some personality traits of Aries and your ruling planet Mars, you will also have Leo traits and will also be ruled by the Sun. Aries: March 21 to April 19
Firstly, Aries is ruled by the planet Mars, named after the Roman god of war. This makes complete sense, since it is the planet of action, passion and, also, aggression!
