Actress Marina Ruy Barbosa unearthed Marília Pêra’s prophecy about her fame in the latest edition of Altas Horas.
Actress Marina Ruy Barbosa recalled, at Altas Horas last Saturday (5), a prophecy made for her, given by Marília Pêra (1943-2015). When Marina Ruy Barbosa unearths Marília Pêra’s prophecy, she says that she was only 9 years old when she received the prediction. According to the veteran, Marina would shine a lot in her career, and the woman blessed her. “You’re going to be a star,” she said, according to the actress’ rescue on Serginho Groisman’s program.
In this sense, Marília Pêra’s blessing came after the young woman’s first soap opera. She was part of the fixed cast of “Starting Again” (2004). In the plot, Marina played Aninha, a mute girl. Because of her character, the actress was bullied at school. Colleagues told her that it didn’t make sense for her to be in a serial if she wasn’t going to say anything.
However, veteran Marília reassured her about this. “In the last scene I played a little angel who flew to heaven. Marília came to me and said: ‘See, you’ve become a little star. I’m giving you my blessing, you’re going to be a star!’” The redhead said about the time she received the woman’s blessing.

Soon after, Marina added: “And my next soap opera was Belíssima (2005). I traveled to Greece and talked a lot.” Thus, in her second plot, a production by Silvio de Abreu, the actress, who was still a beginner, acted alongside several professional bigwigs from TV Globo. “My second soap opera was with Gloria Pires. We stayed there for a month (in Greece), I had that privilege. I had good teachers.” Likewise, she said that she learned a lot, both on stage and behind the scenes.
“I was with Mrs Fernanda Montenegro, Tony Ramos, Cláudia Abreu, so…”, then Serginho joked: “I was going to faint there”. Marina laughed: “Imagine me, and I will stay to this day. I’m nervous about being on Gloria Pires’ side.” At the time, the actress was next to her on Groisman’s program.
Marina Ruy Barbosa has been away from soap operas since her last appearance in Bom Sucesso (2019). On the other hand, she is the protagonist of the series Rio Connection. The plot is based on a true story of a drug trafficking gang from Europe, which chose Brazil as a strategic point for transporting heroin to the United States, in the 1970s. The premiere is scheduled for 2022.
