Dior Homme announces collaboration with artist Peter Doig for winter 21

House and garden

Dior Homme announced, on the eve of Men’s PFW, that the winter 21/22 collection will feature a collaboration with Scottish artist Peter Doig. The show will take place on January 22nd and will be broadcast live digitally, as Paris Fashion Weeks will take place virtually.

However, this is not the first time that the brand has partnered with the aim of creating exclusive prints. The Dior Men 2021 Pre-fall collection had a collaboration with artist Kenny Scharf. As a result, multicolored prints convey critical thinking that uses, at the same time, positivity in speech.

The strategy of Kim Jones, creative director of Dior Homme since 2018, results in more collaborative fashion. Thus, they reinforce a movement of uniting to create, moving away from standards. Furthermore, the product once again gains symbolism and meaning for the public.

For this reason, Kim Jones seeks artists who communicate directly with the millennial generations, as they are the majority of consumers.

What to expect from Peter Doig at Dior Homme

The Scot entered the international art scene in the 90s. After all, he competed for awards and to this day has a great influence on contemporary art. His paintings are characterized by a mysterious and vibrant atmosphere. In them, graphics are combined with memories and a deep knowledge of the avant-garde of the 20th century. The impressionist style of painting is also present.

The themes of the paintings are everyday scenes of urban and rural landscapes. However, his vision is unique and his strategic points of color provide rhythm and symbolism. As well as its night light, which creates the vibe of the works.

It is likely that the lines present in the “White Canoe” painting will be seen in the prints because they create continuity with the Dior Homme Pre-fall collection.

Even so, we can still expect figures with vibrant colors, mosaics and blocks of color. Keep an eye on our style notebook for everything you need to know about Men’s winter PFW. Follow us on @Fashiobubblesoficial.
