The study
Two British universities carried out a practical study providing a series of make-up products for 44 women to look their best.
The scientists took photos of the participants with their faces washed before and after production.
With the help of graphic editing software, they simulated the effect with more and less makeup.
The gradation of makeup applications was presented to men and women with the request that they indicate which look was the most pleasant and beautiful.
The result regarding the makeup that men like most may seem surprising to maker lovers, as between 30 and 40% of those interviewed chose the more natural version.
But does this really match?
In an attempt to identify this pattern, a Brazilian women’s magazine carried out its own research.
A blogger was chosen to feel firsthand how people reacted when she had a clean face, natural and super-produced makeup.
The day she left with a clean face, the girl said she felt like people weren’t treating her so well.
With natural makeup (which only disguises imperfections) she heard a series of compliments about her beauty.
Finally, when she used over-produced makeup, the comments focused more on the products that were used, which attracted more attention from other women.
