Actress and model Gabi Miranda is a warrior and has a story of overcoming that serves as an example for many people. She says she began to suffer from bulimia followed by anorexia after the death of her brother and the loss of her son.
“I started with bulimia after a strong depression due to the death of my brother and losing my son. I confess that I tried to take my life because I couldn’t handle the treatment of several medications and because I had to literally relearn how to eat”, reveals the brunette.

The current Muse of the Drums of Acadêmicos do Tatuapé says that psychoanalysis helped her overcome the illness.
“I started doing psychoanalysis. I suffer from panic attacks and they became more frequent when I was sick. I still suffer from this, so much so that a few weeks ago I spent a week in hospital because my blood pressure was very low.”

Gabi Miranda emotionally recalls the worst moments of her life
“My life was at great risk as I spent five days in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) and could have suffered a cardiac arrest at any time due to weakness. I remember that my body was filled with purple due to poor blood circulation.”
Sport was another important factor in giving strength to the now 26-year-old actress and model.
“I’m not 100% cured because anorexia is like a little button. If you don’t take care of it, it all comes back again. Today I turned sport into an escape valve to understand that I can eat without worrying that I’m going to gain weight.”
“I’ve had a few relapses and from time to time I still feel a little guilty. The article in Veja magazine caused several mothers to contact me asking for help. I believe that the market shows a standard of beauty and most women try to fit into it. It is necessary to pay attention to the signs, as anorexia is a serious illness that kills.”

Gabi Miranda also warns about the importance of the family understanding when a person is suffering from anorexia.
“Sometimes the family itself has a hard time accepting it. This happened to mine. What I can say is that the important thing is to be healthy.”
I’ve been leading a more fitness life without depriving myself of eating well. We need to have a clear head and understand that the standard is what we make. But as we are referring to a disease, treatment and medical monitoring are necessary.”
The brunette has been the Muse of Unidos do Peruche, Muse of Porto da Pedra and paraded as the Muse of Bateria Acadêmicos do Tatuapé at Carnival 2016.
