According to data from the National Association of Natural Persons Registrars (Arpen-Brazil), the most used baby names are simpler, shorter, biblical and saint names. In short, this Arpen-Brasil ranking is developed based on data from the 7,658 Civil Registry Offices in the country. Furthermore, the male name that occupies the top of the list, with 28,301 records, is Miguel. On the other hand, the most popular female name, with 21,890 records, is Helena.

Given this, it is possible to note that the most popular male name, Miguel, refers to one of the three archangels that are present in the Bible. And, which appears from the Old Testament, in the book of Genesis, to the Apocalypse. Furthermore, the name Gabriel is among the top 10 popular baby names, which is also an archangel. AND, Davi e Samuelalso from the Bible, are not left behind in this ranking.

The most used female name, Helena, makes reference to Saint Helena, mother of the Roman emperor Constantine. Furthermore, the legendary wife of the Spartan king Menelaus, known for her beauty. And, her abduction by Paris provoked the Trojan War. Finally, in the ranking there are also variations of the name Maria, mother of Jesus in the Bible. For example, Maria Alice, Maria Clara e Maria Julia.
