Assa-peixe is a medicinal plant that has anti-inflammatory and expectorant properties, making it a great option to complement the treatment of situations such as flu, pneumonia and bronchitis, relieving symptoms such as fever and persistent cough.
Assa-peixe, also known as assa-peixe blanco, cambará-branco and rosemary-do-field, can be found in gardens or street markets, and is generally used to prepare teas that can be ingested or applied to the skin.
It is important to remember that, despite offering many health benefits, asa-peixe should not replace treatments recommended by your doctor.

What is it for
Fish roast contains flavonoids, saponins and coumarins, which are bioactive compounds with expectorant, antirheumatic, diuretic and anti-inflammatory properties.
Therefore, asa-peixe can complement the treatment of situations such as:
- Help in the treatment of respiratory disorders, such as flu, pneumonia and bronchitis, relieving coughs and fevers;
- Relieve muscle pain, for reducing inflammation, when applied directly to the skin;
- Reduce swelling caused by fluid retentionas it has diuretic properties.
Furthermore, fish roast can also help in the treatment of other health problems such as hemorrhoids, ulcers and kidney stones. However, studies are still needed to prove these possible benefits of this plant.
Is fish fry good for COVID-19?
Assa-peixe has anti-inflammatory and expectorant properties, helping to relieve symptoms such as persistent cough and fever, and can therefore be used to complement the treatment of various respiratory problems.
However, there is still no scientific evidence to prove the benefits of using asa-peixe in preventing or treating COVID-19.
How to use the fish roast
The parts used in asa-peixe are the leaves, which can be used to prepare teas that can be ingested or applied to the skin.
Fish roast tea
