How to make coconut oil at home

Coconut oil is used to lose weight, regulate cholesterol, diabetes, improve the cardiac system and even immunity. To make virgin coconut oil at home, which despite being more labor intensive is cheaper and of high quality, just follow the recipe:

Ingredients

  • 3 glasses of coconut water
  • 2 brown-shelled coconuts, cut into small pieces

Preparation mode

Mix all ingredients in a blender. Then, strain the mixture and place the liquid part in a bottle, in a dark environment, for 48 hours. After this period, leave the bottle in a cool environment, without light or sun, at an average temperature of 25ºC for another 6 hours.

After this time, the bottle must be placed in the refrigerator, standing upright, for another 3 hours. The coconut oil will solidify and, to remove it, you must cut the plastic bottle at the line where the water and oil separated, using only the oil, which must be transferred to another container with a lid.

Coconut oil will be ready to use when it becomes liquid, at a temperature above 27ºC. It does not need to be stored in the refrigerator and has a shelf life of 2 years.

For homemade coconut oil to work and maintain its medicinal properties, each step described above must be strictly followed.
