5 home remedies for bitter mouth
The main remedies for dry mouth are:
1. Ginger tea
Ginger tea is an excellent home remedy for dry mouth as it stimulates saliva production and also has a beneficial effect on digestion, which is another problem associated with dry mouth.
Furthermore, this tea has antiemetic and anti-inflammatory effects that help combat bitter mouth caused by gingivitis or gastroesophageal reflux.
Ingredients
2 cm of ginger root;
1 liter of water.
Preparation mode
Place the ginger root and water in a pan and let it boil for about 10 minutes. When warm, strain and drink several times during the day.
2. Chamomile Spray with Flaxseed
Another great home remedy that is effective in combating dry mouth is to prepare an infusion of chamomile with flaxseed that can be used throughout the day, whenever you feel the need.
Ingredients
30 g of flaxseeds;
1 g of dried chamomile flowers;
1 liter of water.
Preparation mode
Add chamomile flowers to 500 ml of water and bring to a boil. Turn off the heat and reserve filtered.
Next, add the flaxseeds to another container with 500 mL of boiling water and shake for 3 minutes, filtering after this period. Then just mix the two liquid parts and place in a container with a spray bottle and keep it stored in the refrigerator.
3. Clove tea
Clove tea is a good option for a home remedy for bitter mouth, especially caused by gum problems, such as gingivitis or periodontitis, for example.
This is because clove tea has eugenol in its composition with analgesic and anti-inflammatory action, which helps with pain and inflammation of the gums.
Ingredients
10 units of cloves;
1 cup of water.
Preparation mode
Put the cloves and water to boil for 5 minutes and cover. Wait for it to cool, strain and swish for 20 to 30 seconds, twice a day. Spit out the tea afterwards. Check out other home remedies for gingivitis.

Ingredients
1 teaspoon of dried fennel seeds;
1 cup (tea) of water.
