How does Roberto Burle Marx inspire current projects?
In this context, Roberto Burle Marx’s legacy continues to inspire architects, landscapers and urban planners around the world. His innovative approach to landscape design, which highlights the appreciation of nature and the creation of aesthetically pleasing and functionally integrated spaces, remains relevant today.

In modern urban projects, it is possible to see reflections of its commitment to environmental preservation, the intelligent use of local materials and the promotion of biodiversity.
Thus, its influence is evident in parks, squares, sidewalks and even buildings, where the landscape is considered an essential part of the built environment.
An example of this is ‘The Residences at 1428 Brickell’, in Miami, in the United States. This project incorporates elements of sustainable design and landscaping inspired by the work of Burle Marx, reflecting his commitment to the harmonious integration between the built environment and nature.
In this context, Yamal Yidios, CEO of Ytech, the construction and developer responsible for the project, explains the reasons and which characteristics of the building are similar to the works of the Brazilian landscaper.
“Our inspiration for The Residences at 1428 Brickell it grew out of our deep reverence for the genius of design. I envisioned the project as a tribute to his legacy, channeling his distinct aesthetics and innovative approaches to space, light and design.”, explains Yamal.
Focus on nature preservation
Another characteristic that brings the enterprise closer to the values of Roberto Burle Marx is the concern with the preservation of nature.

Firstly, the project achieved the first LEED certificate (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) us United States.
This certification is due to the incorporation of a “solar column” with 500 photovoltaic panels on the west side of the building, covering more than 1,800 m².
Additionally, the facility has continuous generation capacity and can produce up to 170 megawatts of clean energy annually. Ultimately, the initiative aims to reduce CO2 emissions and reduce the consumption of fuel oil.
