When I was invited to dinner at chef Gordon Ramsey’s restaurant in New York, I was very excited! Firstly, because I love discovering new places, secondly, because I’m a fan of reality show commanded by him: Hell’s Kitchen and lastly, because a meal in a starred restaurant It’s unlikely to be bad.
The Maze restaurant is located at The London Hotel, super well located, on W 54th St and really cute! And it doesn’t disappoint anyone who likes signature kitchen. In this case, an English/Scottish chef influenced by French and Asian cuisine.
We decided to go for the five-course, paired tasting menu, with the promise that they were all small portions and luckily for us, they really were! We started with a cauliflower cream with cheese and then baked beetroot with celery and lemon confit.
After the starters, came the seafood escalope with pumpkin and garlic. Divine! And as a main dish, I opted for mushroom risotto, one of my passions. My husband went for meat (dry aged sirloin) and said it was great!
Of course, the wines made all the difference and the attention of the sommelier, a very friendly Italian, only helped.
For dessert, we chose, respectively, the dark chocolate fondant and the apple brioche. Both delicious!
What draws attention to the restaurant, in addition to the great food and impeccable service, is the lively bar atmosphere, very relaxed and with very tasteful decor. Attendance is mixed between hotel guests and people attracted by the English chef’s fame. And despite it being a Monday, the place was very busy. I loved the dinner at the restaurant do Gordon Ramsayo Maze no The London NYC and I hope to return soon!
