Onde comer em SP | You Must Go!

South America

On my recent trip to São Paulo I discovered some restaurants that are worth a visit, whether or not you are a tourist in the city. So, let’s get to the post where to eat in SP.

Bagatelle – the charming French/Italian bistro opened three years ago in Jardins and known for its lively nights, has great and varied options on the menu. I had an unforgettable carpaccio, with toasted almonds and touches of mustard. The pasta is also divine and I had to try the famous gnocchi with black truffles, totally approved. Remembering that the restaurant offers an executive menu at lunch time, with great value for money. With locations in NY, Los Angeles and Miami, the bistro finally arrives in Rio and I couldn’t be more excited.

Italy – this friendly Italian restaurant on Oscar Freire is a great option, both for lunch – when the executive menu is offered – and for dinner. Classic Italian gastronomy recipes with modern, unpretentious and accessible reinterpretations. The whole grain spaghetti with seafood was great and the goat cheese and Sicilian lemon ravioli with shiitake ragú and tomato juice, besides being beautiful, was divine! The restaurant also has a wine cellar with capacity for 400 bottles, a bar, ground floor, mezzanine and a roof top charming, widely used for corporate and social events.

Casa do Porco – with super cool and tasteful decor, reminiscent of those modern restaurants in New York, this bar/restaurant by chef Jefferson Rueda (ex-Attimo) and anaína Rueda (Bar Dona Onça) has just opened. On the menu, as the name suggests, dishes dedicated to the animal, of all types, even sushi! The house also has a small market where take-out pork sandwiches are sold, as well as homemade products such as bread, flour and sausages. A must in the center of São Paulo, unmissable. But be prepared to wait in line.

Dalmo Bárbaro – traditional seafood restaurant on the coast of São Paulo, now has a branch in Jardim Paulista, which offers an executive menu for lunch from Tuesday to Friday, from 12pm to 3:30pm, for R$60. You know that day when you want to eat a lot? Go to Dalmo as the portions are huge! Squid with fried shrimp, shrimp with garlic and oil, cod fritters, seafood platter, stew, all the classics are on the menu. For dessert, sweets are served, such as caramelized bananas or seasonal fruits, such as pineapple with lemon shavings.

Tête à Tête – sophisticated contemporary cuisine made with fresh ingredients, produced in the restaurant itself or made by local producers, always attentive to quality. The aim of the restaurant is to follow the maximum Farm to Table, very fashionable nowadays. At lunch, during the week, the executive menu is served, which changes every week and at dinner, two tasting menu options for those who know more about the proposal of chefs Gabriel Matteuzzi (ex Dom) and Guilherme Vinha. O Head to Head menu includes cover charge, 4 times, avant-dessert, 1 dessert and petit-four. Already the Trust, a little longer, features 6 times and two desserts. Among the possible options, the foie gras terrine, a French classic, gets a very Brazilian touch with cupuaçu jam; and the bijupirá – fish from our coast – is lightly smoked, contains meat broth and has the Asian flavor of purple and green shisso and shitake infusion. Go to dinner without rushing, the experience will be incredible!
