In the heart of Manhattan, AKA Central Park is on 58th Street, near Fifth Avenue. In other words, you can walk to the park, next door, and also to Broadway: a perfect address! For those who want to do a little shopping, it is next to designer brands, such as Bergdorf Goodman, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany and Co, as well as more affordable ones, such as Tommy Hilfiger, Abercrombie, Ralph Lauren, among others.

AKA – residence hotel in NY
It was my first experience at a residence hotel in NY and I loved it! It has 17 floors and 134 100% furnished studios. The apartments are very spacious and have a cozy atmosphere, with tasteful decor and designer furniture. There were two plasma TVs (one in the living room and one in the bedroom), complete with DVD and sound system.
To bed king size It was very comfortable and there were several sockets in the apartment, something essential these days.
The kitchen is very well equipped, with refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee machine, cupboards full of crockery, etc. You can even tell the hotel before your arrival what you want to eat and they will do the shopping for you.

My suite also had a nice balcony from which I had a typical New York view and where I always went when I woke up.
The bathroom has Bvlgari amenities and super comfortable bathrobes that make you want to take them home, lol. The important thing is that it was a very comfortable environment and gave us the impression of really being at home.

A penthouse
I visited the suite on the top floor of the residence hotel, which was spectacular. A real apartment with stunning views of new York. I almost didn’t move there (look what they offered, huh).

The Lobby, the Bar and the Restaurant
The AKA Central Park Lobby is discreet, with some armchairs right at the entrance and the reception in front. The decor is sober and features a lot of wood.
On the same floor is the bar, where happy hours run from 5pm, with a variety of drinks and live music. A nice space to meet someone or do an hour before going out for dinner or going to the theater.
Still on the ground floor, there is the restaurant, where breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea are served, and a more informal café where you can just have an espresso and eat a croissant at the counter. They have a separate entrance directly onto the street and it is common for passers-by to come in to have a drink.
If you choose to have breakfast at the hotel, be sure to order the delicious french toasts, (our version of French toast), very well served.
The lunch menu features salads and sandwiches, well made and healthy. AKA also has its own wine and vodka label. More luxury impossible!

Anton Moore, the hotel director, is Irish but with a Latin soul. A sweet, chic person who made a point of meeting me and inviting me for a drink in the Lounge. He has been to some of the most famous hotels in NYC and knows everything about the city.
