In the heart of the medieval city, Palazzo Victoria is an excellent hotel option in Verona, a city on the way between Milan and Venice. Built in the 16th century, the palace, as the name suggests, comprises four buildings and is even a museum.

The city is accessible by train or car, but once there you don’t even need to take your vehicle out of the parking lot, unless you want to explore the surroundings. (By the way, I can’t help but mention that I went by car to the Mosconi Bertani winery, 20 minutes from Verona. An unforgettable tour in a village from 1725, which I will detail in a future post).
It was a two hour drive from Milan. The train journey is a little shorter, 1.30 and the train station is 2kms from the hotel. It is worth mentioning that parking at Palazzo Victoria is paid separately and costs 40 euros per day. A bit salty, but I preferred it for its practicality and safety. You can choose to leave your car on the street and spend less, but finding a space is not easy. In short: cars are not allowed in the historic center of Verona and you won’t need it.

Returning to the hotel in Verona, it is next to Porta Borsari, a beautiful entrance to the city. This Roman wall was built in 1 AD and marks the beginning of the ancient city.

From there, I walked to the famous Arena, the mini Coliseum, one of the city’s best-known tourist attractions. Inside, there are shows, which must be an incredible experience. The next to perform would be romantic singer Tony Bennett.
You could also walk to Juliet’s House, another great attraction in the city of Verona. We remember the story of Shakespare, the most romantic of all time. I was also transported to a film that I love, “Letters to Juliet”, with Amanda Seyfried and Gael García Bernal. Just don’t be surprised by the number of people there to take photos: a real war, if you go in spring or summer, like me.

In short, I covered all of Verona on foot: its charming streets, its historic bridges and its charming squares. And the best, I left for jwalking every day in excellent and not expensive restaurants. Is there anything better when traveling? Even more so for us, who live in a dangerous country and cannot afford this luxury. Only a well-located hotel in Verona would allow me to do this.

The Hotel in Verona
The facade of Palazzo Victoria immediately attracts the attention of anyone passing by on the narrow street. It has been preserved and maintained in its original 14th century style. Inside, the decor is modern and luxurious. Right at the entrance, we see touches of street-artlike the wall where guests can write their messages, a panel similar to the one found in Juliet’s House.

At the same time, he knew how to stay modern and updated, which makes the environments even more interesting. The mix of bold decor, with Italian design furniture and the ancient atmosphere of various periods in history, is fantastic!

Hotel rooms in Verona
With the Preferred Hotels seal, Palazzo Victoria has 74 rooms divided into 8 categories. They have classic decor but with a contemporary touch and I found everything to be in good taste. Despite being super central, the double glazing works well and you won’t hear a peep from the street. The size of the rooms varies from 18 to 105m². The environment follows the style of the entire hotel, which mixes the old with the modern, with a touch of romanticism.
I thought this red sofa was the cutest thing! The fireplace also adds a cozy touch on colder days. There are Italian paintings and furniture, a tea maker, plasma TV and a full minibar. My room was a great size and very functional. The bed king size it was very comfortable, as were the pillows.

The bathroom was a good size, with plenty of towels and good quality amenities.
The restaurants and the lounge
The hotel has restaurants Scholarships 36with typically Italian cuisine, and the Victoria Lounge e Caféwhere a variety of drinks are served. In my hotel in Verona, what I liked most was having coffee outside, on the terrace, admiring the beautiful period architecture. The coffee is served as a buffet and is very plentiful. There is also an indoor lounge in case it is cold.

In addition to the cafe and restaurant, Palazzo Victoria has a very modern hairdressing salon open to non-guests. Of course, I didn’t need to do a basic blowout during my trip, but I found it interesting and proof of the contrast between old and modern to have a salon there, in the middle of the hotel. And it must be good, because it was always busy.
Hotel Price in Verona
Daily rates start at 220 euros, in low season and simpler rooms, and can reach 700 euros in suites, in high season. Breakfast is included in the price of all room rates and is great, as I said before.
