A lush destination with beautiful landscapes, Argentine Patagonia makes us feel like we’re in Switzerland. But the good news is that it is close to Brazil. A trip for both those who like adventure and those who enjoy nature and simply want to relax, eat and drink well. When I went, I was very impressed with the whole look and with the selection of the best hotels in Argentine Patagonia that Leroy Viagens made for me.

The best hotels in Argentine Patagonia
Hotel Eolo
Considered the best in El Calafate, it impresses upon arrival. With an environment inspired by indigenous culture, from there, you can explore the lush Patagonia in luxury and comfort.

It bears the Relais Chateaux seal and has 10,000 acres. The ideal place for those who enjoy horse riding, bird watching, trekking and mountain biking. (Note: I don’t do any of that, but I liked it anyway, okay, lol). In addition, of course, rest, admire nature and indulge in haute cuisine, one of the hotel’s highlights. (Now yes, one of my great pleasures). It is possible to have all meals but they are not included. Of course, on a day out, you end up having lunch during the program.
The rustic yet elegant atmosphere invites us to spend hours in the lobby, which has the feel of a glamorous country house, admiring the immensity of the blue sky, with one of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve ever seen.

There are only 17 rooms and interaction between guests is inevitable. The high level of the hotel can be seen due to the demand for people from all over the world. I found people from Latins, Americans, English and Australians.
The hotel offers several tours and organizes trips to the Glacier National Park – where the famous Perito Moreno glacier is located – paid separately and 45 minutes away. The staff are all very friendly and well prepared.
Estancia Cristina
Built in 1927 and accessible only by boat, one of the best hotels in Argentine Patagonia that impressed me the most. It takes five hours to sail from El Calafate, which seems like a lot, considering that cell phone signal is lost along the way. But it’s already an appetizer for offline preparation during your stay. The beauty during the itinerary is so much that we get easily distracted.
Only by boat can you see the region’s greatest attraction up close, the Uspala glacier, three times larger than the Perito Moreno. The icebergs floating along the lake look like something out of a movie.
Hotel location
The hotel, which is located within the Glacier National Park, has 5 houses with 4 bedrooms each and has a cozy and familiar atmosphere. At 11pm the lights are turned off. There is no cell phone signal and the Wi-Fi is very weak. Internet addict that I am, I thought I was going to go crazy, but didn’t I survive and enjoy it? There is so much to do and admire that we quickly forget about social media.
I went on an hour-long trail with my friend Adri Lage, from the blog A Caminnare, and saw one of the most impressive landscapes of my life. I will never forget that day. I can say that it was my favorite of the best hotels in Argentine Patagonia.
But the big attraction is the trip to the Upsala glacier. You can choose between a 9km trail or take a 4×4 and walk another 1km. As the route is not jaw-dropping, we prefer to go by car. Once there, another unforgettable view of the imposing Upsala, larger than Singapore
If you don’t want to sleep there, you can just spend the day and visit the historic property. But if you are a guest, you have the chance to visit the viewpoint and see the imposing Upsala before the dozens of tourists who will arrive later, as the same tour is also only offered to those who spend the day.

Hotel Arakur Ushuaia Resort & Spa
Opened three years ago and with the Leading Hotels of the World label, it became famous for hosting actor Leonardo Di Caprio during the filming of “The Revenant”, which, in fact, won him an Oscar.
In the middle of the Cerro Alarkén Natural Reserve, a viewpoint with a panoramic view of the city but just 15 minutes from the center of Ushuaia – that is, from the port where the boats leave and 20 minutes from the airport.
The Arakur has 131 rooms and is a charming and elegant hotel. It has a renowned spa with jaw-dropping views of the Andes.

The Cauquenes
A member of the Small Luxury Hotel of the World, it has less than 60 rooms and is extremely cozy. The atmosphere is rustic and welcoming, with lots of wood and glass windows that invite guests to admire the landscape overlooking the Beagle Channel.
The restaurant is excellent and offers regional food with an international touch and the staff is very friendly. The hotel also has a spa and indoor and outdoor pools. Open all year round, just choose the season that suits you best and relax in style.
