During my days in Firenze, I took the opportunity to visit the Gucci Garden, which brings together art, fashion, gastronomy and history in the Palazzo della Mercanzia! The Gucci complex in Florence has a museum of the Italian brand, a concept store and a restaurant designed by Massimo Bottura, a chef with 3 Michelin stars on his CV. Certainly a great program tip for anyone in Florence! So, check out my experience at Gucci Garden below!

Gucci complex in Florence
Located in Piazza della Signoria, the historic Gucci Garden building has already been restored twice, most recently in 2011. The interactive museum, The Gucci Garden Galleria, celebrates the brand’s past and its rebirth under the command of Alessandro Michele, creative director of brand and the person responsible for creating the space. Therefore, on the first and second floors there are six different rooms, including a cinema, that explore the history of the brand, its identity, the evolution of the logo and the concept of its collections.

On the second floor of the museum, for example, the two De Rerum Natura rooms recall natural history museums and explore Alessandro Michele’s passion for animals and gardens. In the Ephemera room, it is possible to explore the history of Gucci through objects, videos and memories of the Maison.

In addition, there is also a store that sells exclusive items, from clothing and accessories to decoration items and magazines.

The restaurant
With a Michelin star, Gucci Osteria has a refined atmosphere and contemporary cuisine, with the innovative cuisine of Mexican chef Karime Lopez, and supervision by the award-winning Massimo Botura, one of the most renowned chefs in the world! (Ahead of Osteria Franciscana, in Modena, Italy, voted the best restaurant in the world in 2016). The tasting menu, which can be seven or nine steps, takes a real trip around the world, with Asian and Mexican influences.

With delicate presentations and beautiful crockery, the spaghetti with artichoke ceviche as well as the steamed bread with pork belly were some of the dishes on the sophisticated menu, certainly more than approved. In other words, an unmissable restaurant in Florence that can be combined with a visit to the museum!
