How to wax at home (step by step)

Beauty

To wax at home, you must start by choosing the type of wax you want to use, whether hot or cold, depending on the areas to be waxed. For example, while hot wax is great for small areas of the body or those with stronger hair, such as the armpits or bikini line, cold wax is great for waxing larger areas or areas with weaker hair, such as the back or arms, for example. example.

Cold wax is also recommended for people with varicose veins, as it does not dilate blood vessels, and is also a great option for those who are traveling, as it can be easily stored and transported. On the other hand, hot wax is more effective, because the heat dilates the skin pores, making hair removal easier and reducing pain during the process.

Cold Wax Hair Removal

This type of wax is especially recommended for those who have varicose veins or sensitivity to heat, and should only be used when the hair is already longer. When applied incorrectly, it may not remove hair from the roots, ending up breaking it. To do hair removal alone, with cold wax, you must follow the steps:

Heat the wax by rubbing the leaves lightly between your hands or against the top of your leg for 10 to 15 seconds, then separating the leaves.

Apply the waxing sheet in the direction of hair growth. If hair grows on both sides, apply the sheet once from top to bottom and then from bottom to top, changing the direction to ensure that all hair is removed.

To remove the sheet, it must be pulled quickly and in the opposite direction to the hair growth, as parallel and as close to the skin as possible.

The process must be repeated for all areas to be waxed, reusing the sheet until it loses its adhesion. If not all the hair has come out, you can repeat the wax application or choose to remove the remaining hair with tweezers.

Hot waxing

Hot wax is great for small areas of the body or those with stronger hair, such as armpits or bikini line, and also for dilated skin pores, making hair removal easier. To wax with hot wax, you can use a roll-on or spatula, depending on preference, and it is recommended to follow the steps:

Heat the wax and, when it is semi-liquid, test the texture by applying a few drops to a piece of paper. If it seems like it has the right texture, you should apply a little to a small area of the body, such as the arm, for example, in order to test the texture and temperature of the wax.

To perform waxing, you must apply the wax with the roll-on or spatula in the direction of hair growth and then apply a sheet over the area where the wax was spread.

Pull the sheet quickly and in the opposite direction to the hair growth, as parallel and as close to the skin as possible. If not all the hair has come out, you can repeat the wax application or choose to remove the remaining hair with tweezers.

To reduce pain during waxing and to reduce the adhesion of the wax to the skin, a little talcum powder can be applied to the skin, then applying the wax for waxing. In addition, after waxing, apply a little baby oil to remove wax residue, wash the shaved area and apply a little moisturizing cream.

After waxing, it is normal to feel discomfort and irritation in the shaved area, and redness on the skin is common. To alleviate these symptoms, in addition to being recommended to apply a moisturizing and soothing cream after waxing, you can also apply a cold compress to the affected area, in order to reduce irritation and discomfort.
