This is that very sweet and sour salad served as a starter in Japanese restaurants. Sunomono means preserved, food immersed in vinegar and in my revenue I add carrots and Japanese cucumber.
You can follow the proportions I indicate, but you may find it too strong, or too sweet, so next time you adapt it to your taste by modifying the quantities.
Ingredients:
- 4 tablespoons of salt (to dehydrate the vegetables);
- 2 Japanese cucumbers;
- 1 carrot;
- 5 spoons of rice vinegar;
- 3 tablespoons of sugar;
- 1 pinch of salt;
- White and black sesame to decorate.
* People with sugar restrictions can use that powdered sweetener in the same proportion.
The first step is to finely slice the cucumbers and carrots. For this I use a slicer. This one is very cheap and works perfectly.
Place the 4 tablespoons of salt over the vegetables and mix well so that the salt gets on all the slices. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
The vegetables will release a lot of water. Rinse well with running water to remove all the salt.
Add the other ingredients and mix well. Delicious people! Love it too much!!!
