Stuffed Savory Bread

Snacks

Delicious bread is what you have for your loved ones today! Easy to make, one of those really cute ones, you know? When I make it, I sometimes fill it with different flavors (ground meat, pepperoni, ham and cheese… and I suspect that there are sweet fillings too, but I’ve never tried it. So come with me:

Ingredients:
1 ovo
250 ml of warm milk
1/4 cup (60ml) oil
02 tablespoons of sugar
1 tablespoon of salt
10 grams of dry yeast (1 packet)
500 grams of wheat flour (you may need a little more or less).

Mix the yeast in the milk, which must be warm (not hot), add the lightly beaten egg, sugar, salt and oil and mix everything.
Add the flour until it comes off your hands and forms a ball. Let it rest for half an hour in a stuffy place (I put it in the microwave).

Take small portions of dough and roll out with a rolling pin to form a rectangle. Add the filling and roll up like a roulade. Fold the points down to seal well.
Make a mixture with 1 egg and 1 teaspoon of water and brush over the bread, sprinkle with oregano or sesame.
Let it rest for another 20 minutes and bake in a preheated oven at 220º until golden (in my oven it took about 30 minutes).

You can use whatever filling you want, but don’t forget that it (the filling) must always be cold otherwise the dough won’t rise. This recipe yielded 12 buns of a reasonable size, like, I only ate one and that was it (the size of mine is equivalent to more or less 3 of the ones I bought)! Make it for today’s snack if there’s time!
