If you are reading this text you probably already know that São Paulo has hundreds of incredible tour options to please any type of traveler.

Therefore, it is very common to see the same roteiros being beautiful visitors, and the same inhabitants, in the city.

9 Best and Most Different Things to Do in São Paulo

Whether it’s an excess of options, a cheap search or simply a lack of knowledge about the best places to visit, it’s normal to see different people on our own shared and familiar tours.

And nothing against! Walking through Paulista, visiting Masp and riding a bicycle in Ibirapuera are some two classic and great tours to do in Sampa… but if you are looking for new adventures, go to the right place.

Thinking about cases like this, we decided to draw up some ideas of unusual and different routes to help the city to the maximum.

1. Have some good coffee and manhã

Start your day by visiting some of the famous padarias of São Paulo, if you want to follow the São Paulo tradition, peça a pão na chapa and a pingado (coffee with milk). Virtually all padarias in the city can offer you this combination, but if you are looking for indications:

  • Go to Padaria Bella Paulista: If you are looking for a classic walk, Bella Paulista is a great option. This is one of the most renowned padarias in the capital and works 24 hours a day, always with a person waiting for you. If you are a coffee lover, pay attention to the differentiated cardápio of local coffees from various countries around the world.

Price: Média Espresso (café com leite) – R$9.00; Pão na Chapa – R$4.50;

Local: Rua Haddock Lobo, 354 – Cerqueira César, São Paulo – SP, 01414-000;

Schedule: Open 24 hours;

  • Go to Cepam: If you like various options, this is the local one. This padaria has 2,300m² and an extensive cardápio with the most different twelves, salgados, lanches, pães and refeições. One of the local’s highlights is its frango cake with super tasty catupiry and a dozen delicious nuts.

Price: Pão na Chapa – R$4.40; Pão de nozes – R$19.90; Frango cake with catupiry – R$10.50;

Local: R. Ibitirama, 1409 – Vila Lucia, São Paulo – SP, 03133-200;

Schedule: 06:30 – 22:00;

  • Go to Coffee Lab: If you are looking for a relaxed and youthful atmosphere, the Coffee Lab is a good option. The place became famous for its different options of coffee beans and its beautiful atmosphere.

Local: R. Fradique Coutinho, 1340 – Vila Madalena, São Paulo – SP, 05416-001;

Schedule: 09:00 – 18:00;

2. Adventure not urban rappelling

An unusual activity that we see becoming increasingly popular in the capital of São Paulo is urban rappelling.

As the name itself says, this activity is for adventurers who seek adrenaline by practicing rappelling on city streets and viaducts.

One of the most famous and organized tours that promote urban rappelling in São Paulo is the Rappel São Paulo who carries out rappelling activities on the Sumaré viaduto daily, day and night.

Price: from R$51.00;

Local: Viaduto Sumaré, SP;

Schedule: 09:00 – 13:30; 16:00 – 22h15;

3. Go to the orchestra in the São Paulo Hall/Municipal Theater

Unlike what most imagine, there is no need to pay an absurd amount to prestige a concert at the Municipal Theater in the São Paulo Hall.

Both locations have various free orchestral performances and choirs for less than two months, therefore, there is no chance of attending a funny show surrounded by a traditional architecture.

In addition to two concerts, we also offer free guided tours that can be scheduled online.

Price: Gratuitous;

Local: Praça Ramos de Azevedo, s/n – República, São Paulo – SP, 01037-010; Praça Júlio Prestes, 16 – Campos Elíseos, São Paulo – SP, 01218-020;

Schedule: According to the shows in Cartaz;

4. Stairs in Stone House

If you enjoy different activities, you will surely love this one! This is one of my two favorite tours in São Paulo… Falando seiro, a Casa de Pedra is one of the same places, known for being the largest climbing gym in Latin America.

It is possible to train, learn and venture into different types of climbing modalities, all in one place.

If you don’t have any experience with that type of sport, don’t worry. It is possible to request an instructor and learn everything in practice in a safe and fun way. Also, there are no restrictions on the size and location of children’s climbing walls.

Ah, here’s a valuable tip – wear comfortable shoes that don’t slip, or local climbing shoes but if your shoes are in good condition you can save money by avoiding this waste. Apart from these shoes, all other basic equipment necessary for climbing is not even charged.

Pedra’s house has a branch in Moema, however, with a smaller structure. If possible, visit the Partridge unit and make the most of this experience.

Price: R$65.00 – Second to sixth; R$80.00 – Saturday, Sunday, holidays;

Local: R. Venâncio Aires, 31 – Pompeia, São Paulo – SP, 05024-030;

Schedule: 07:00 – 22:00;

5. Walk by Jardim Botânico

São Paulo has several charming parks, including the famous Ibirapuera, but another excellent walk option is the Jardim Botânico de São Paulo.

With historic structures, plant stoves, and other must-see attractions, a special highlight must be given to the Jardim dos Sentidos. It is possible to touch, look and feel various plants and flowers.

Also mentioned, another highlight is the path of the Nascente that leads visitors to the nascente of the Riacho Ipiranga.

Price: The entrance fee is R$10.00 (inteira) and R$5.00 (meia);

Local: Miguel Estefno, 3031 – Vila Água Funda, São Paulo – SP, 04301-905;

Schedule: 09:00 – 17:00;

6. Rollerblade not Roller Jam

This is a very fun option, mainly if you are planning a walk with children. The Roller Jam is a skating ring with a 70s theme open to audiences of all ages.

In addition to all the decoration following the theme, the place also has disco music and a retro bar.

If you don’t know how to skate, don’t worry. The premises provide monitors who are always guiding and helping beginners.

Pay attention to the programming on Instagram, as there are some days with themed parties and others in which the venue remains dated for special events.

Please note, leave the bag in your house or car because the establishment does not have a place to store your objects, and it is necessary to place a cupboard with a separate value.

Price: From R$30.00 entrance fee and R$20.00 for skate and safety equipment rental;

Local: Alameda dos Nhambiquaras, 1980 – Moema, São Paulo – SP, 04090-004;

Schedule: 16:00 – 22:00;

7. Dance and sing no karaokê da Tokyo

This is one of the two baddest night spots in São Paulo today. With a differentiated concept inspired by the capital of Japan, the space has a bar, restaurant, karaoke, parties, rooftop, tattoo rooms and various cultural projects.

If you are looking for a party to tanner in a cool atmosphere, this is a great place. For karaoke lovers, it is possible to sing in a community space or in private rooms available for reservation.

Pay attention to the program, as the local has special events every day with various price ranges.

Price: From R$30.00 with list name; R$100.00 for 1 hour in a private room for 20 people;

Local: R. Maj. Sertório, 110 – Vila Buarque, São Paulo – SP, 01222-000;

Schedule: 17:00 – 05:00 from second to fifth; 12:00 – 06:00 on 6th Saturday; 12:00 – 23:30 Sunday;

8. Garimpe at the Benedito Calixto Fair

Since 1987, the fair of antiques, crafts and art has taken place on Benedito Calixto Square.

Here is the ideal place to find some unique object or a special piece.

In addition to the antique shops, there are also many shops and galleries around the square that are worth visiting.

Here it is possible to find glasses, clothes, paintings, furniture and other things that you would not easily find there. It’s a super cool walk to see interesting objects, eat delicious food and experience a little more of the city through history.

Price: Gratuitous;

Local: Praça Benedito Calixto – Pinheiros, São Paulo – SP, 05406-040;

Schedule: Every Saturday you open 09:00 – 17:00;

9. Gargalhe no Clube Barbixas de Comédia

The Barbixas de Comédia Club, formerly known as Comedians, is located on Rua Augusta on one of the city’s two most famous points. The venue offers presentations and events that are incredible and perfect for moments of relaxation and sadness.

This bar is an atypical place, this is because it is the only city to follow and a model of an American comedy club with cadeiras and tables turned for a box and an extensive cardápio of meals, snacks and drinks.

It is possible to host stand-up shows, drag queen contests, skits, magic shows, palhaços, and many other splendid attractions. But be careful, some presentations are gone quickly, so buy your tickets beforehand and take advantage of the show!

Price: It varies according to the programming;

Local: R. Augusta, 1129 – Cerqueira César, São Paulo – SP, 01305-100;

Schedule: It depends on the programming;
