The 90s were really great for the perfume sector.
The designer fragrance boom movement took off during the (whimsical) 80s, but it wasn’t until the following decade that we really started to see the creation of iconic scents.

1. OBSESSION
Obsession by Calvin Klein is, without a doubt, one of the most iconic scents of the 90s.
Certainly not for lovers of more subtle perfumes, as the perfume is marked by its silky amber and oriental notes.
What made it so famous was the fact that it was one of the first “great” unisex perfumes, which allowed you to discover common tastes (about perfumes) with that special person.

2. CK ONE
When you think about striking perfumes from the 90sone of the perfumes that immediately comes to mind is CK One by Calvin Klein.
A fragrance that became even more famous for its partnership with the supermodel and constant tabloid figure, Kate Moss, CK One became synonymous with the “cool” style of the time. But it has also since assumed a more timeless reputation.

3. TREASURE
Trésor by Lancôme was a perfume sensual with an amber scent that was super popular in the 90s.
It had a bit of a reputation for being a more sophisticated and mature perfume and therefore one that girls would mainly wear for special occasions.
Trésor was the perfect fragrance for girls who wanted something a little more mature to take a step forward from the more common perfumes with fruity scents.

4. ANAÏS ANAÏS
AnaÏs AnaÏs by Cacharel é outra fragrance which will take you straight to your adolescence.
With its pleasant white floral notes, the perfume was the perfect blend of exuberant fragrance without being too strong – an ideal choice for standing out at school or for a weekend outing with your friends.
And the best part is that it’s still as attractive today as it was twenty years ago!

5. ANGEL
Angel by Thierry Mugler is immediately identifiable by smell, perhaps more so than any of the other striking perfumes on this list.
The fragrance can be described as patchouli meets cotton candy, and it was definitely a love or hate case!
It was a perfume as pleasant as its packaging: the blue star was a permanent fixture on many shelves, wardrobes or dressing tables.

6. Jean Paul Gaultier CLASSIC
This is another “90s perfume, where the bottle is as famous as the fragrance itself” situation, perhaps even more so than Angel!
Classique by Jean Paul Gaultier was synonymous with “cool” during the decade, evoking images of Madonna in her glory years and possessing a wonderfully irresistible musk and vanilla tone. It was a warm scent.
A favorite of many of the period’s biggest celebrities, Classique truly was sophistication in a bottle.

7. SUNFLOWERS
Sunflowers by Elizabeth Arden was an insanely popular perfume and a worldwide favorite during the decade.
Launched in 1993, the perfume has become one of the most common choices for teens everywhere.
