Cleaning may not be fun at all, but if you use the right materials and know a few tricks, keeping your house clean can be much easier. A great example of this is when you discover that you can use a vacuum cleaner to clean in different and creative ways.

As you will see below, in addition to saving you the trouble of sweeping the house and carpets, vacuum cleaning can be much more versatile than we can imagine. Or did you know that it can help remove stains and eliminate strong odors, such as those from pets, in the house?

And the possibilities of using the vacuum cleaner in everyday cleaning don’t stop there. Below, in the list, we have selected some very useful tricks that will change the way you clean and organize your home, saving you much more time.

How to use the vacuum cleaner to clean in different ways:

1. A pair of pantyhose on the end of the vacuum cleaner, secured with an elastic band, and everything will be simpler when it comes to finding small objects that have fallen under furniture, like an earring, for example.

2. If you don’t have a suitable piece for smaller spaces, use a cardboard tube, as we already taught in this other article, to improvise a nozzle and reach even the most difficult-to-reach corners.

3. If you have animals at home, put a spoonful of cinnamon in the vacuum cleaner bag. As you vacuum, the cinnamon smell will spread and cover up any unpleasant odors.

4. Vacuum cleaner and baking soda are an unbeatable duo when it comes to removing stains and removing bad odors, such as from mattresses, for example. Just put a little bicarbonate slightly dissolved in water on the stains and leave it to act for 30 minutes. The bicarbonate will dry, remove the stain, the smell and just vacuum it up.

5. When vacuuming the carpet, if you want to remove the marks that the furniture makes on it, simply spread ice above the mark. When the ice melts, the water will swell the fibers of the carpet and return it to normal. Then just use the vacuum cleaner and everything will be perfect.

6. If the roller that moves the vacuum cleaner is dirty, a sewing awl (the kind for leather) can help remove threads and hair stuck in the bristles. A stiffer brush also helps.
