Capital of Maranhão, it is close to the lush Lençóis Maranhão.
UNESCO made the city’s historic center a cultural heritage site.
It’s a cozy and charming place.

On December 31st, several parties and street parties take place, including the traditional “Bumba meu boi”.
As for cuisine, be sure to try the açaí from Maranhão and the guaraná Jesus.

Lagoa Termas Parque has a Day use system, that is, you pay and enjoy everything in the park for a whole day for a single price.

With daily rates starting from R$150, São Tomé is a completely mystical little town and is 310 km from Belo Horizonte.
Located more than a thousand meters above sea level, the small town has beautiful mountains, as well as beautiful waterfalls.
A great tip is to visit an old community, close to the city center, called Fundação Harmonia.
Admission to visit the foundation costs R$5.
It is a mystical place, also dedicated to holistic therapies, philanthropy and spirituality events.
